Why manufacturer matters
Roller coaster manufacturers are the most reliable predictor of how a ride will feel. Once you have ridden a few coasters from a particular builder, the pacing, restraint design, train sound and transition style of their other installations becomes recognizable from the queue. That is why manufacturer is one of the first details enthusiasts mention when discussing a new ride — it carries more information than the spec sheet.
The list above sorts every manufacturer with at least one coaster in the CoasterVault database by their U.S. installation count. The largest names — B&M, Intamin, Vekoma, Mack, RMC, Premier — dominate the modern landscape, but smaller and historical builders are represented as well. Each manufacturer page collects their full U.S. portfolio so you can spot patterns across their installations.
For trip planning, knowing the builder behind a coaster is a useful shortcut. If a particular B&M hyper coaster delivered exactly the sensations you wanted, the rest of B&M's hyper portfolio is statistically very likely to do the same. Use the manufacturer pages to identify candidates for your next coaster road trip.
